Quick OTR measurement for PP PET PE Nylon

Q:  quick OTR measurement for PP, PET, PE, Nylon

we need an instrument to quickly measure several. PP, PET, PE, NYLON, and those of aluminum coated multilayer film sample. Suggestion?

 A:  We do have a super fast equipment for film OTR analysis, Kirk. Of the list you mentioned, it depends largely on thickness and how the film are constructed. At present we can quickly dry test 1 - 10 cc/m3/day sample in short hours if this is what you are looking for.

Q:  I am looking at the dynamic test range of 0.5 - 100 cc/m2/day with dry test. The OTR test range you mention cover most part of our sample but occasionally we do have sample of less than 1 cc/m2/day

A:  Kirk, if the keyword here is quick OTR analysis, then it would mean for standard ASTM3985 test temperature and dry condition. Your test room is to be well controlled by air conditioner such like 23 - 27 degree Celsius.

We have model 8501 that will simply measure 1 - 100 cc/m2/day in a comparatively short test time. You can download this information from our web or call us with any question you have on gas permeation

Q:  what is "quick OTR analysis" in your meaning? Can you translate this in number of minutes?

A;  for PP and PE film with approx 180 micron thick, SystechIllinois can get a complete OTR result in 45 to 60 minutes. For thicker or higher density, it should be within 90 minutes.

Q:  Do you have solution of quick analysis for film sample of less than 1 cc/m2/day

A:  usually this level of OTR consider fairly low and material that keep oxygen from transmitting through is obviously a high barrier material. It would requred long hours for oxygen gas to travel through this material.

There is no quick solution

Q:  You can supply WVTR for PP, PE, PET, Nylon test ?
